Long after a forest giant has stopped growing, it begins a different kind of life.

Inspired by the standing wildlife trees of the Pacific Northwest, The Elder Hollow is celebrating the beauty of ancient trees that continue to shelter life long after their final season. Every opening is shaped, allowing a warm amber glow to drift through the hollow interior like the last light beneath a forest canopy.

Some say the oldest hollows are never truly empty. Those who wander the woods at dusk sometimes speak of warm light where no lantern burns... and of the feeling that something small is watching from within.

Whether that's folklore or something else, the forest has always kept a few secrets.

Carved from solid Black Walnut, the Walnut Mushroom Lamp is a small, sculptural light inspired by the forest floor. Each lamp is shaped with intention, letting the natural grain guide the curves of the cap and stem so no two pieces ever feel the same. The underside has soft, amber, organic gills that catch the warm glow, giving the light a gentle, atmospheric feel, more like a tiny living moment than a lamp.

A simple brass detail finishes the base, adding a quiet touch of warmth without distracting from the wood itself. Powered by a warm, energy-efficient LED the lamp gives off a cozy ambient glow that’s perfect for a bedside table, shelf, or reading corner.

Made in small batches here in the PNW, every lamp carries its own character, shaped slowly, intentionally, and with the grain in mind. ‍
